Meet the grandpa in the UK who has spent 25 years transforming his back garden into a Wild West “town.” Stephen Smart's Dude Ranch includes a saloon, jailhouse, bank, haberdashery and even an undertaker…all inspired by his fascination with Western films.
As Smart explains, "It started with country music, then looking up the time period and then I started going to a few themed parties." Despite never having been to America, the 65-year-old has handcrafted all the convincing Wild West buildings in his yard, which he is constantly adding to and improving. Smart says they make tons of use out of the makeshift town, saying, “We’ve had parties and everything in the saloon, lots of them, including my daughter’s 16th and my wife’s 50th.”
